Progressive Virginia Democrats have been reluctant to describe the rejection of one Black female hoping to make history as “racism”, but the number of non-Whites getting the cold shoulder by Republicans of Virginia is climbing. Can you be antivax, pro-life and for school choice and not be suspected of being a Republican? At least according to VA8 GOP and Arlington GOP, one litigation hobbyist is so liberal he should join the Democrat Party, a suggestion that had led to a round of applause against the only non-White in the room. But would any progressive be surprised to find a White Republican drafting an amendment to the FACE Act making sudden headlines while a non-White independent is raising serious questions about the protections to religious liberty no church or evangelical had cared about when churches were closed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
